I'm a second-generation IT professional and have been computing & online since 1994.

I'm based in the UK and have a background progressing from a Desktop Support Technician, Technical Support Team Lead, Systems Administrator, and project Infrastructure Engineer within a decade long tenure at an industry-leading UK VAR.

In more recent history, I worked for a number of years at the UK's biggest online cycling/tri-sports retailer maintaining both front-end e-commerce and back-office systems as a Senior Systems Administrator.

These days I'm a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, working almost entirely within a project-based workflow. It's a great change of pace from the ITSM rat-race.

Throughout my career I've designed, delivered and led a number of technical IT projects ranging from server refreshes, system overhauls, structured cabling installs, to full datacentre moves, and automation initiatives.

I'm a jack of all trades engineer, who prides myself on having a broad range of knowledge that enables me to offer deep insight on technical challenges, and the perseverance and tenacity to get things done.

I have a passion for creating easy-to-follow documentation that makes no assumptions about previous knowledge, and figured, a blog is a great outlet for that, for the benefit of the wider industry."
